I really like the look of the country primitive graphics and would love to know how to make them myself.
Are there tutorials out there that demonstrate how to go about creating such a clip art style….with tips and techniques?
Is one software better than another for this type of usage?
I am not a professional graphics person, but a hobby crafter. So, software for someone without a detailed graphics background might be better.
Any and all info is helpful! Thank you!

Hi…
Really don’t know what exactly is “Primitive Country Clip Art”.
But for your software needs, you might want to check out these two OpenSource softwares for starters.
InkScape is a free Vector Art software, that does ths same things as the costlier Adobe Illustrator.
GIMP is a image editing software, similar to Adobe Photoshop.
You can get the here:
http://www.inkscape.org/
http://www.gimp.org/
Both have online tutorials and help forums…which I am sure you can easily find.
Hope that helps
Clip art is most often vector art, meaning it has been drawn on the computer using an illustration program that work in vector such as Adobe Illustrator, this is what makes clip art scalable. Be cautious as to what program you use because a raster based drawing program (for example Adobe Photoshop) will be pixel based and not scalable.
