Functional testing of software using image recognition?
Hi!
I am looking for an automated software testing tool for functional testing that uses image recognition to determine pass/failure of tests. The only product I have found that does this is Eggplant which is expensive; all other testing tools I have found look into the HTML source code, which prevents me from testing things like Flash, Silverlight or AIR applications very easily.
Any ideas?

Despite the fact that there is an increasing need for medical transcription services, the proliferation of high quality software in the transcription industry has made it a very competitive business. In order to stand above the crowd and be able to offer solutions at a market price, companies must have medical voice recognition software that does much more than simply convert speech to text. It has to be adaptable and manage all aspects of the transcription business. Much of its success will depend on the inputs and outputs to the system.
Starting with the inputs, medical voice recognition software must be able to accept voice in a number of different ways. Many people in the medical profession work differently, and they may be submitting files in a digital format or they may prefer to simply pick up the phone and leave a dictation that way. That offers flexibility to a client and the ability to record a file anywhere or anytime. If the medical voice recognition software platform has the ability to do this that is a good start.
Once a speech file has been received by the system, the medical voice recognition software should be able to do a back-end conversion of the data to text. This does not simply mean taking those words and putting them into a text form, but a good system will also be able to render data that is more usable to a medical transcriptionist. A robust software platform has the functionality to identify places where punctuation is necessary and where sentence breaks occur.
With a file that is relatively close in text form to what has been dictated by somebody in the medical profession, a medical transcriptionist then sets about reviewing the information and producing output. If they have a system that allows for quick and easy editing and this will significantly improve productivity. When they having text delivered to them in a nearly complete form, the bulk of their time will be spent reviewing the data and the interface must be one that allows for enhanced speed and accuracy.
Medical voice recognition software is also about outputs. When a medical transcriptionist has completed work on a particular project, they must be able to rely on an automated system to deliver the work to the client. If this kind of administrative function has to be completed by the medical transcriptionist or somebody working with them, it will severely hamper productivity and take a transcriptionist away from what they do best. There are certain functions of a medical transcription industry that are much better handled by software that by a pair of human hands.
Output needs to come in different forms. Clients will request that the files be delivered in facsimile form in some cases, other clients would prefer FTP and some would rather some other type of digital submission. In any case, this is also something that must happen in an automated fashion and if a software platform is able to do this, it will allow a medical transcription company to focus on its core competencies.
Voice Recognition Software
Voice recognition Software
Speech has been the inspiration for communication and many other modern features. This has been realized by modern technology as lots of facilities are based on speech such as voice recognition software. The augmentation of technology has introduced several things that a business can gear up its activities and one such facility is the voice recognition software. Voice recognition or speech software is one of the most fabulous software that is provided today. It allows you to store data in your voice in your computer. Voice recognition software is an alternative to the traditional storing devices such as the mouse and the keyboard. You can store your voice using a headset or a microphone and inform the computer what you desire to do. The voice recognition software has the capacity to convert your voice into text as and when you speak, and this text is later on matched with coded wave files.
Benefits of Voice Recognition Software
The benefits of using voice recognition software are many. Impaired individuals who are unable to use their hands can make use of voice recognition software. This technology is of immense use to an extensive range of professionals such as doctors, executives, lawyers, military officers and other high level ranks. The installation of voice recognition software helps in handling documentation and in report preparations as this software does the job effortlessly and owing to this voice recognition software the need of hiring secretaries and people to do transcriptions is totally eliminated. Over all these facilities, the voice recognition software records everything that is expressed and so missing anything or getting any information wrong is highly impossible.
Types of voice recognition software
There are various types of voice recognition software such as speaker dependent voice recognition software and independent voice recognition software, command as well as control voice recognition software, and discreet, continuous and natural speech input voice recognition software.
Speaker dependent software involves you to endure comprehensive exercises to make a voice profile in your computer so that it matches your speech patterns. Alternatively, speaker independent software is flexible and can be used immediately after the installation of the program.
Command as well as control voice recognition software lets you handle your computer through various voice commands. This kind of software allows you to start programs, navigate web sites, open documents and do various other functions by merely talking to your computer.
Discreet speech voice recognition software requires you to stop after each word. Pausing after every word enables the computer to accurately identify the dictated words. However, they possess the efficiency of taking down more than 60wpm.
Continuous speech voice recognition software is synchronized and immediate voice recognition software that facilitates you to dictate commands or instructions without breaking for a pause in between words. However, this software is designed especially for medical specialties.
Eventually, the natural speech voice recognition software is capable of recognizing words if you prompt it fluently. It recognizes 160wpm and retains your voice as you speak. The accuracy is better than any other type of voice recognition software. However, the microphone quality, the environment and the processor’s speed are crucial factors to accomplish the accuracy of this software.

Speech Recognition Transcription Software: Essential To Success

Just as in any industry, companies in the medical transcription business must give themselves an advantage that allows them to outpace their competitors. They can look for the best medical transcriptionists and they can have the best sales force around. If they do not have a speech recognition transcription software platform that allows their medical transcriptionists to be productive, then the other parts of the machine will not be able to make up the difference.
Many of the decisions that are made by a medical transcription company will be separate decisions. Each employee that they hire may be good or bad, but it won’t affect the long-term fortunes of the company. Choices about location, office equipment or advertising decisions may help or hurt them. The software platform that they use can cause them to fail if it is not effective. There are some things that a medical transcription company can look for in a speech recognition transcription software platform. If it finds the right one, it will be poised to grow along with the demand for transcription services.
One of the most important things that a good speech recognition transcription software platform can do is reduce expenses. There are a number of areas in which a good software platform can do this. It starts with the ability of the software to transcribe a file that is received from a client and subsequently send it to a medical transcriptionist. If that file has already been converted to text and it is presented in a format that is readable with punctuation already added to it than each medical transcriptionist is going to be significantly more productive.
The integrity of the data is crucial to the medical transcription company. When they are shopping for speech recognition transcription software platforms, it should come with a commitment from the software provider that there will be redundancy is in the remote servers that store the information. The physical location of those servers should also be secured and protected at all times.
An effective speech recognition transcription software program will also allow medical transcriptionists to navigate quickly and easily through a document. If it contains up-to-date medical spell checkers and word expanders then the medical transcriptionists will not have to stop what they were doing to look up medical terms.
The software platform should also have flexibility. If clients wish to submit files in a number of different forms they should be able to select whatever is best for them. In the same way, the clients should be able to receive the completed files in any form that they prefer whether it is by facsimile, FTP or another type of digital transfer method.
Medical transcription companies can greatly influence their growth potential and sustainability if they select speech recognition transcription software platforms that will grow with them and adequately handle the kind of work that medical transcriptionists do. A complete platform will assist with the input of files to be transcribed, the distribution of the work and the delivery of completed files to clients.
