Turkey Not To Google
The Republic of Turkey has banned Internet search engine Google and its applications. Turkey’s Telecommunications Communication Presidency released an official statement saying it has blocked access to some Google IP (Internet Protocol) addresses “because of legal reasons”. Not only Google but many of its applications and services like translate.google.com, books.google.com, Google-analytics.com, tools.google.com, docs.google.com have been blocked in the country by related authorities. Only last month the country banned YouTube for derogatory videos related to Turkey’s founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk found on the video-sharing website. The move has led to a widespread criticism in turkey, especially among the business-men and the youth of the country.
